Creating a Work Request and Tracking its Progress

Work requests form part of a continuous flow of work, providing a process for managers/team leaders to control and manage any new requests established for the business. This process gives guidance on placing strategic prioritisation on all work requests that will drive the business. 


In this article, you'll learn how to create a new request, as well as track it's progress.




Creating a new work request


Requestors are able to send work requests to a board and can collaborate on the tasks during their life cycletrack the process of approval and get real time visibility of progress. 


To create a new work request, click on the global Create button in the top navigation bar, and select New Work Request.


 


You will be presented with a dialog that includes the two different categories - Community Boards and My Boards. 


1.  Community Boards display all boards that are opened to requests from any members in the organisation.

2.  My Boards display all boards that you are an owner or member of.


  • Start by selecting the board you want to send the request to.



  • A dialog will appear with the work request form that you need to fill in.

NOTE: The list of fields displayed, depends on whether or not you are an owner or member of the board you are sending the request to. Board owners and members can directly assign the request on creation, or set its status.





Tracking a Work Request


  • From the homepage, click on My Items.
  • You can track the progress of your requests by navigating to your Sent Items option from the drop-down menu. 



Here you will find a list of all your sent requests. At a glance, you'll be able to see the status of the request and collaborate on the request by using the chat channel. You can also open the task dialog to see more advanced data and add additional information if needed.
